I feel like every day I am learning so much about photography..and I don’t think that is going to change anytime soon. There’s always some different way of editing, different software, different poses, different lighting (the whole world of on camera and off camera flash), and the list goes on. It can get overwhelming at times thinking about everything there is to learn! And to make sure I don’t get too overwhelmed, I like to take things one step at a time. Right now my focus is on editing with VSCO film packs. I love the look of film and using VSCO allows me to achieve similar coloring/looks that using a film camera would while still shooting with a DSLR. It is basically the best of both worlds. For the past few months I had been solely editing with film pack one (modern film), but a few days ago I added the rest of the packs to my toolbox (2, 3, 4). Ever since, I have been running to my computer every chance I get to play around with them! Now that I have more editing software, I feel like it is time to reevaluate my work flow again. I know there are some beauties in the 100 or so presets I now have! I am a firm believer that you should never become too comfortable in your own specific process and always keep an open mind to change. Especially as a beginner. Always learning, always growing.
The above photos are a handful of re edits of travel photos from over the summer where I used film pack 3 this time around (presets made to resemble various instant film). I love the look of instant film. I haven’t figured out how or if I am going to add any of these presets into my daily workflow or just bust them out for special occasions, but I am excited to add them to my bag of tricks. I have a feeling these next few weeks, I am going to constantly be playing with different looks on my photos. So please, if you see something you love, let me know! I would greatly appreciate it.
