Our trip to the windy city!!

chicago (15 of 27)

We had the best time in Chicago last week, and boy, as I am looking through these photos, I sure do wish I was back there right now eating a Pistachio Lemon Donut from Do-Rite Donuts! I’m even craving a cup off their coffee! Yum. We only spent two nights in the city, and luckily we only live 3 hours away, because it didn’t feel like nearly enough time. Though do vacations ever feel like they last long enough? I mean, can I be a professional traveler when I grow up?! For real!

We spent most of our hours walking around and enjoying each other’s company. It was fun to be in the city with Bear. The only time that we had traveled with him was up north in Michigan camping, so this was a whole other story. We weren’t quite sure how he was going to react to all the cars, people, being in a high rise, and sleeping somewhere new, but I believe he had an awesome time. He kept giving me this look that totally said “OMG Mom, there are SO many smells. How didn’t I know about this place?!” It was adorable. The only thing I was surprised about though was when we went to visit the bean, we were told no dogs were allowed in the park. I didn’t even bother to check, because I mean, dogs should be able to go in parks right? Ah, at least we know..And now you know too ;) When we got home, Diesel ended up sleeping almost the whole day away. I made sure to give him the bit on how you never need a vacation as much as you do after coming home from a vacation. Ha. I’ll stop talking about my dog like he is a child now. Moving on..

Here’s the photos from our time in Chicago!

  1. Omg that maple bacon doughnut. I would die for that right about now. Beautiful photos! I used to live in Chicago and still visit friends frequently. I had no idea there were no dogs allowed in Millennium. Come to think of it, I guess I’ve never seen one in the area. Thank you for sharing and so happy to stumble upon your musings. :)

Hunters come in so handy for city living because you can walk through anything without ruining them!
